It’s not yours, nor mine. It’s ours. Help protect mother earth!

Our school organized a special assembly on June 14th to commemorate World Environment Day. The primary objective of this event was to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage students to adopt eco-friendly practices. This year’s theme being, “Our Land, Our Future”, the focus was on the significance of land in sustaining life and biodiversity, as well as the urgent need to restore degraded land and build resilience against droughts and desertification.

The assembly commenced with a captivating folk song (Parisara Geethe) performed by our talented school choir, setting the tone for the rest of the event. Following this, students from various grades actively participated in the assembly through a series of presentations and performances.

The students from Grades 3 and 4 presented an engaging skit, ‘The web of life’, that highlighted the importance of saving the food chain by protecting the environment. Grade 6 students showcased a mesmerizing mime show centered on the theme of saving trees. Additionally, Grade 3 students presented a vibrant dance performance advocating for the preservation of the environment. Furthermore, Grade 2 students enlightened the audience about two renowned environmentalists, Shri Payeng Jadhav and Shri Rajendra Singh known popularly as ‘The forest man of India’ and ‘The water man of India’ respectively.

To conclude the assembly, a rally was organized within the school premises aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship among the students. The active participation and enthusiasm displayed by both students and staff members truly emphasized the school’s commitment in creating a sustainable future.

The event underscored the power of education in driving environmental change. The assembly reinforced the notion that every small action contributes to a larger, collective effort to preserve our planet. It was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees and inspiring them to take proactive steps towards a greener and more sustainable future.

Be it big or small, your actions matter. So, let’s do a bit to save environment!
