The Bhagavad Geeta, a 700-verse scripture from the Indian epic Mahabharata, is a thoughtful dialogue between Lord Krishna and the warrior prince Arjuna.

Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur, organized a special Bhagavad Geeta Abhiyana from January 7th to 10th, 2025, to introduce students to the profound teachings of the Geeta. This initiative sought not only to deepen students’ understanding of the sacred text but also to instil values such as courage, self-discipline, and selfless service, which are central to the Geeta‘s teachings.

Recitation and Reflection

Various verses from the Geeta were recited during the event, encouraging students to reflect on their meanings. These sessions aimed to cultivate peace and spiritual awareness. Additionally, students engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the relevance of the Bhagavad Geeta in the modern world, exploring concepts like dharma (duty), karma (action), and bhakti (devotion). Students not only gained a deeper understanding of this ancient scripture but were also inspired to incorporate its teachings into their daily lives.
