Inter School Sports Meet Achievement 2023-24

VAGDEVI VILAS SCHOOL,VARTHUR “Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose, it teaches you about life” Vagdevi is known not only known for academic excellence results but also extracurricular activities. Students are given opportunity to explore their talents in all aspects by encouraging them to participate in Interschool competitions. The achievements of our students in inter school sports are as follows: Our students participated in CBSE cluster meet(athletics)held at Davanagere . SHREESHA RANI SUBUDHI of Std X bagged bronze medal in triple jump. NITHYASHREE C S of Std VII, bagged bronze medal in CBSE Taekwondo Zonal U-14 (below 47 kg) held at Belgaum. * Our students participated in Inter School Chess competition held in Euro School, Whitefield and Radhika Thakur (IX B) bagged 3rd prize. * Students participated in Interschool Throwball competition held in Euro School, Whitefield, and bagged 2nd prize * Students participated in Inter School Relay Race and Boys bagged 3rd prize and girls bagged 1st Prize.

Pre-Primary Krishna Janmastami Celebration(2023-24)

KRISHNA JANMASTAMI was celebrated by the pre-primary students of Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur, on 22^nd September (Friday).

Children came dressed up as little Krishnas and Radhas. The programme started with an invocation song by the students of L.K.G followed by eloquent and fluent speech delivered by U.K.G students in English and in Hindi conveying a message on the life of Lord Krishna and the significance of Janmashtami celebrations.

Nursery students mesmerised the audience with their dance and shloka chanting. U.K.G children chanted a few verses from Bhagavad Gita with lot of devotion and perfection and also gave the meaning of these verses in English.

All the little Krishnas and Radhas of L.K.G showcased their talent through a beautiful dance performance. Chief guest of the day, Shri K.Harish, Chairman of Vagdevi Vilas Institutions, delivered a motivational speech. Guest of honour Kum. Shyallet, Head Pre-Primary, CEO, Vagdevi Vilas Institutions, encouraged the students with her gracious presence.

The highlight of the program was the matka breaking event. The program concluded with an energetic and mind-blowing dance performance by U.K.G students. Parents, grandparents and the staff participated with devotional fervour. Pooja was performed and prasadam was distributed to all.

Pool Activity For The Students Of Std I-Iv(2023-24)

“Swimming is more than a sport. it’s a passion. it’s a dedication, it’s a way of life”.

Swimming is proved to be an effective form of physical exercise for both the mind and the body. It’s a valuable life skill that a student needs to learn. Given the sedentary lifestyle and wide spread fascination for gadgets of modern-day children, swimming is the perfect answer.

Swimming is a good all-round activity because it keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body, builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness

Students of Std I-IV were taken to our Whitefield campus for the pool activity. They had lots of fun and learnt a few basic skills of swimming. It was fun and relaxing for the students as they had a break from their regular school routine.

It provided them with an exposure to the world of water.

77th Independence Day Celebration – 2023-24

“One’s mother and homeland are greater than even heaven.”

Dedicating the day to the indomitable spirit of freedom and National pride, on the significantly auspicious occasion of 77th anniversary of India’s Independence, Vagdevi Vilas School paid a grand tribute through varied programmes with great patriotic fervour. Vivid colourful programme was organised based on the theme ‘Nation First Always First’.

The programme commenced at 9:00 am with the receiving of the Chief Guest

Sri M Krishna Swamy, Retired Deputy Director, ISRO, with the accompaniment of band in great fervour and gaiety. He was escorted by Administrator Sri. Pramod Bhat, Vice Principal Smt. Renugadevi and Academic Coordinators Smt. Usha Rani, Smt. Mamta Srivastava and Smt. Chaithanya R.

The celebration started with flag hoisting followed by march past and spellbound performances by our students including mesmerizing dances, patriotic songs that swell our hearts with pride, and speeches in Sanskrit, Hindi and English were delivered to ignite patriotism in the hearts of young minds.

To highlight the significance of the day, fancy dress by our budding students depicted reminiscence of the brave souls’ sacrifices in their quest for a free and united India; skit and dance drama showcased the innumerable and incredible sacrifices of our freedom fighters and rekindled the patriotic spirit in students. Students could feel the fragrance of sovereignty all around.

The celebration concluded with the inspiring words by the esteemed chief guest followed by singing of national song praising the glory of our motherland.

World Environment Day Celebration

“PLASTIC PLASTIC GO AWAY;WE WANT OUR EARTH TO SWAY”

Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur celebrated World Environment Day on 8^Th June 2023 (Thursday) by conducting a special assembly .

The theme for this academic year is “ BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION.”

The aim behind organizing this programme was to spread awareness about keeping the environment clean and safe from plastic pollution.

The event started at 9:30 am. Vice Principal Smt. Renugadevi presided over the function. She emphasized about the importance of protecting the environment. She urged students to be responsible and to do their part to conserve natural resources and beat plastic pollution.

It was followed by a cauldron of cultural activities by the students from standard I to X based on the theme ‘SAVE NATURE FOR FUTURE’, which included Invocation Dance, Speech, Parisara Geethe, Thought provoking repartee, Street play, Green pledge and Vote of thanks.

The celebration helped in creating awareness about the importance of environmental preservation for sustenance.

As a part of our celebration students of Std I-IV planted saplings, students of Std V-X participated in poster making competition, drawing competition and went on a rally calling out slogans to save nature.

The students and staff of Vagdevi Vilas School are committed to protect the environment and putting in their humble efforts in setting a great example for others.

Every little bit helps. By working together, we can make a difference.

Investiture Ceremony – 2023-24

“Leaders become great not because of their power But because of their ability to empower others”

The momentous day of Investiture Ceremony was organised by Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur on 28/06/2023 (Wednesday). The day was dawned to bestow responsibilities on the deserving young talents of the school to lead their school from the front with their commitment, confidence and competence.

To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of being an important and integral part of the administrative body, ‘Student Council’ is formed every year through free and fair election process.

The names of the houses to which the students and teachers would be allotted to shoulder their responsibilities are:

Keerthi house- Red

Shanthi house- Green

Shakthi house- Blue

Bhakthi house- Yellow

The chief guest was formally received and escorted to the dais by our school band. The school flag was hoisted by our chief guest to mark the start of the event followed by School anthem.

The event was presided over by the chief guest, Chairman, VVI, Sri. K. Harish.

He was accompanied on stage by the Administrator Sri. Pramod Bhat, Academic advisor Smt. Poorna G, Principal Smt. Leela Padma and the Vice-Principal Smt. Renugadevi

The programme started by seeking the blessings of the almighty through an invocation song on Lord Ganesha.

The chief guest awarded the badges to the prefects and handed over the respective house flags to them. Then the head boy administered the oath to the newly elected ‘Prefectorial Body’ after which there was a March past by every house commanded by the respective house captain and vice-captain.

The head boy and head girl delivered a pertinent speech acquainting the newly- appointed prefects their duties. The house mistresses (Keerthi, Shanthi, Shakthi and Bhakthi) delivered their speech on behalf of their respective allotted house and also introduced their house members.

Chairman sir congratulated the newly appointed School Cabinet Members for their preparedness to take up responsibilities entrusted to them. In his message, the chief guest suggested the students to uphold the noble thought : “Respect for self, Respect for others, Responsibility for all their actions” He

highlighted the need to respect oneself (self-confidence), respect others (empathy) and to take up responsibilities (ideal leadership) willingly and to discharge the same with utmost sincerity and dedication to become successful in all the future endeavours.

The programme concluded with the National anthem.

Felicitation Ceremony Of Std X Toppers

“ PATIENCE ,PERSISTENCE AND PERSPIRATION MAKE AN UNBEATABLE COMBINATION FOR SUCCESS”

Felicitation ceremony- the most awaited programme to honour the students who have excelled in AISSE CBSE STD X Examination (2022-23) was organised in Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur on 16/06/2023(Friday).

The toppers and their parents were invited formally for the programme. The programme started with an invocation song, followed by the welcome address by our Principal Smt Leela Padma.

The overall percentage toppers and individual subject toppers were felicitated by our honourable Chairman, Sri. K. Harish with cash award and letter of appreciation.

The toppers shared their memorable experience about their successful journey in Vagdevi and they also shared certain tips for the upcoming batch students to overcome the exam pressure and excel in exams.

Parents of toppers also shared their gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the management and the faculty for guiding their ward towards success.

Chairman, Sri K.Harish addressed the gathering and motivated all the students to achieve good results in the upcoming years and all our students also reciprocated with positive response.

The session ended with a vote of thanks by our Vice Principal, Smt Renugadevi to all the participants, their parents, faculties and staff members.

International Yoga Day Celebration

“Yoga makes us find the peace which lies within us”

International Yoga Day is observed on 21^st June every year in order to create awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world.

Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice. It plays an important role in relaxing the mind, body and boosting people’s immune system.

9^th International Yoga day was celebrated by the students and the teachers of Vagdevi Vilas School , Varthur on 21^st June 2023(Wednesday) ,with great zeal and enthusiasm.The theme for this year was “ YOGA FOR VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM”.

A formal programme was conducted during school hours from 9.00 am. The programme was presided over by Dr R.B.B Raghunath (Taluk Health officer) and

Sri Premkumar Muddi (Yoga Instructor) and Kumari Nirmala.S (Yoga practitioner & of recipient of bronze medal – National Olympics) were the chief guest for the function.

Dr R B B Raghunath inspired the students with his powerful words and motivational thoughts . Students of std 5,6 & 7 performed selected group yogic asanas on the stage. Students of Std I -X participated in the mass display .

The body achieves what the mind believes. Through a breath taking demonstration, Kum. Nirmala grabbed the attention of the students through her flexible postures . Students were amazed at her performance and were inspired to continue yoga in their daily lives.

Parent Orientation For Std I -X (2023-24)

Parent orientation at VAGDEVI VILAS SCHOOL ,VARTHUR was organised in the school campus on different days for different levels as per the following schedule:

Std IX & X on 03/06/2023(Saturday).

Std I-IV on 17/06/2023(Saturday)

Std V -VIII on 24/06/2023(Saturday)

The programme started with an invocation song by our music teacher Shri Jayaprakash Bhat.

Principal Smt. Leela Padma highlighted the “role of the parents” in moulding their children. Academic advisor Smt Poorna G emphasized the parents’role in fulfilling the dreams of their children. Vice principal Smt Renugadevi spoke about the importance of spending valuable time with their children to unfold their potential.

The elaborate overview of the academics was briefed by the academic Coordinators

Smt. Chaithanya, Smt Usha Rani and Smt Mamta Srivatsava.

Glimpses of the activities of the previous academic year was shown , followed by the

School rules and regulations and curriculum structure including the assessment pattern, expectation from students and parents were briefed.

The session was an open forum for parents to come up with their queries which were clarified by the management representatives.

The teachers were introduced at each level for the parents to be acquainted so that they could approach or communicate in case of any need or emergency.

Parents and teachers agreed to work willing hand in hand for the progress and success of the students.

Environment Day was celebrated by the students of Pre- Primary on 23rd June Friday 2023.
Children came in green colour dress to signify Nature. As a part of Environment day celebration children were taken to Vagdevi Vilas School Marathahalli .

They planted saplings and distributed paper bags to make people aware of using Paper bags and avoid the use of plastic bags.

They went on a rally calling out slogans to save nature.
