Scholastic and Co-scholastic activities have an equal importance in School for the allround development of a child. Keeping this in mind a Fancy Dress Competition was held for the students of Grade 3.
Participating in fancy dress competitions helps children develop confidence. The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the little ones by giving them an opportunity to perform.
The competition was been conducted online and the Theme allotted for STD -III was FAMOUS PERSONALITIES OF KARNATAKA.
Winners were selected and got I,II,III and Consolation prizes respectively. The competition proved to be great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents.

Storytelling is a unique human skill shared amongst people far and wide. It opens up the vivid imaginations that runs wild in children and it also builds confidence and enhances speaking skills. A storytelling competition was organised for the students of Standard 4.
The young vibrant storytellers came forth with wonderful tales. While some stories provided food for thought, some reinforced moral values.
The stories were adjudged on the basis of expression, confidence, diction and presentation skills of the children.
Children narrated stories like-The five friends, The Foolish man etc…To captivate the audience’s attention, the little narrators of Vagdevi used props like Puppets, Placards, toys etc…Each and every story was recited with a moral. The oratory and presentation skills of our kids were outstanding.

Clay modelling is a great way to develop a child’s fine motor skills, imagination and spark creativity.A competition on clay modelling was conducted for Grade 1 &2, wherein students participated enthusiastically.
Students presented clay models on theme Ganesha.
The main objective of the competition was to stimulate the imagination of the children and enable them to give a better shape to their creativity.
The tactile hands on nature of clay made children get engrossed while allowing for a high degree of creativity.
The little hands worked smoothly and efficiently to fulfil their heart’s desires and fantasies. Manipulation with clay provided an outlet for children to physically convey their emotions and reduce stress. They pounded, squeezed, rolled and blended the clay to make some unique and amazing models of LORD GANESHA
This outstanding sensory activity enhanced dexterity, gross and fine motor skills and helped to boost the self-confidence of the students.

Freestyle is a way of dancing in which the dancer improvises his/her moves on the spot, as he dances,instead of having them planned beforehand (ie choreography)
A competition on Freestyle Dance was conducted for Grade 1 & 2, where in students participated enthusiastically.
Freestyling is a skill that can be cultivated through diligence and practice.
ThecompetitionwasconductedOnline,The students enjoyed dancing with lot of energy and with a charming smile on their face.
This competition helped the students to create
new movesand develop personal style.
Now a days advertisement became a major media to promote a product or services. Keeping the objective of developing the versatile skills in students Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur had conducted the Creative advertisement making competition for Grade 7&8 in the month of September. The young learners were asked to take any product and promote it through advertisement. Students had participated in the competition with zeal and presented creative advertisement.
Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur had organized the collage competition using natural materials for the students of 5th and 6th grade in the month of September. Students had showcased their creativity and artistic skills through this. They had participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. They thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
