“Healing is not easy, but it’s tougher to regret”

On school campuses across the country, substance addiction has emerged as an alarming and a concerning health epidemic. VVS Varthur planned an anti-drug awareness day on June 28, 2024, taking into account the challenges of the current situation. A special audience of secondary pupils of Grade 1X and X attended the programme. Smt. Chaithanya R, Academic coordinator of secondary classes briefed about the goal; ‘A world free of drug abuse’. The theme for the year 2024 is “The evidence is clear: Invest in prevention” was elaborated to raise an awareness.
An informative presentation and thought provoking speech by Sri. Manjunatha Sub Inspector of Police, Varthur Police Station was a major eye opener of the session. He emphasized the importance of living a drug-free and healthy lifestyle. The programme aimed at to educating the students about the harmful effects of drug addiction. He cautioned about the demerits of overindulgence in drugs which has proven fatal.
The audience’ participation increased the session’s effectiveness and engagement. The students found the session to be enlightening, and many of their doubts and queries, on the subject were answered. This was the perfect platform to raise awareness on a very crucial issue of the century/ society.
