“Leaders become great not because of their power But because of their ability to empower others”

 The momentous day of Investiture Ceremony was organised by Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur on 28/06/2023 (Wednesday). The day was dawned to bestow responsibilities on the deserving young talents of the school to lead their school from the front with their commitment, confidence and competence.

To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of being an important and integral part of the administrative body, ‘Student Council’ is formed every year through free and fair election process.

The names of the houses to which the students and teachers would be allotted to shoulder their responsibilities are:

Keerthi house- Red

Shanthi house- Green

Shakthi house- Blue

Bhakthi house- Yellow

The chief guest was formally received and escorted to the dais by our school band. The school flag was hoisted by our chief guest to mark the start of the event followed by School anthem.

The event was presided over by the chief guest, Chairman, VVI, Sri. K. Harish.

He was accompanied on stage by the Administrator Sri. Pramod Bhat, Academic advisor Smt. Poorna G, Principal Smt. Leela Padma and the Vice-Principal Smt. Renugadevi

The programme started by seeking the blessings of the almighty through an invocation song on Lord Ganesha.

The chief guest awarded the badges to the prefects and handed over the respective house flags to them. Then the head boy administered the oath to the newly elected ‘Prefectorial Body’ after which there was a March past by every house commanded by the respective house captain and vice-captain.

The head boy and head girl delivered a pertinent speech acquainting the newly- appointed prefects their duties. The house mistresses (Keerthi, Shanthi, Shakthi and Bhakthi) delivered their speech on behalf of their respective allotted house and also introduced their house members.

Chairman sir congratulated the newly appointed School Cabinet Members for their preparedness to take up responsibilities entrusted to them. In his message, the chief guest suggested the students to uphold the noble thought :  “Respect for self, Respect for others, Responsibility for all their actions” He

highlighted the need to respect oneself (self-confidence), respect others (empathy) and to take up responsibilities (ideal leadership) willingly and to discharge the same with utmost sincerity and dedication to become successful in all the future endeavours.

The programme concluded with the National anthem.
